A practical signing solution for conveyancers outside the area

Arranging signature can become unnecessarily difficult when the transferring attorney and the parties are in different cities. Correspondent conveyancing firms commonly assist by arranging the signature of transfer and bond documents for clients based away from the instructing attorney.

HS Inc can act as your local signing attorney, contact the relevant party where authorised, arrange the appointment, attend to signature in accordance with your written instructions, and report back once the signing has been completed.

Signing areas

  • Century City
  • Cape Town CBD
  • Bellville
  • Durbanville
  • Paarl
  • Stellenbosch

Appointments are arranged by agreement. These are service areas and do not imply that HS Inc maintains a permanent office in every listed location.

The standard fee includes

  • Receiving and checking the signing instruction
  • Contacting the seller and/or purchaser where authorised
  • Arranging one standard signing appointment
  • Attending to execution of the supplied transfer documents
  • Reporting completion to the instructing attorney

Courier charges, extraordinary travel, additional appointments, re-signing caused by amended or incorrect documents, notarisation, authentication or work beyond the standard signing instruction will be quoted separately where applicable.

Your client remains your client

We act on the instructing attorney’s mandate. Unless you authorise us to contact the parties directly for purposes of arranging signature, communication remains through your office. Any substantive questions about the transaction are referred back to the instructing conveyancer.

All instructions remain subject to conflict checks, professional requirements and acceptance by Henk Scheepers Inc.

How the signing service works

  1. Send the instruction. Complete the online form, identify the parties who must sign and upload the signing pack or instruction letter.
  2. We acknowledge and check the instruction. We confirm receipt, carry out the necessary conflict check and clarify any practical signing requirements with your office.
  3. We arrange the appointment. If authorised, we contact the seller or purchaser directly and arrange signature in Century City, Cape Town CBD, Bellville, Durbanville, Paarl or Stellenbosch.
  4. We report back. After signature, we advise the instructing attorney and deal with return of the signed documents in accordance with the instruction.
